A Long Moment



Heart goes pitter-patter ...

You wonder what's the matter

And then you realize the sweat

Is pouring out from that lost bet



For within your soul and mind

You're overcome - almost blind

For your love is greater than the sky

And your body trembles as the lie



Seeps through all of your inner self

As your mind wants to go hide on a shelf

For the words uttered sounded so true

... Now they're just moments past so blue



For their color changed from a fiery flame

The one they were when she said your name 

And promised you would hear her voice say

"I love you" ... simply ... and on this very day ...



But the moment's now come and gone ...

Leaving you to write your hollow song ...

For your love ... has been reawakened 

Only to find your heart - now shakened ...
