Love's Double Edge



Love has a double edge

It fills the heart with pledge

Empowering both to dream ...

Strengthening every part of being



But it also creates a vulnerability

Which has its very own instability

For when our hearts are worn outside

They become prime targets for a slide



And emotions twisted into tight curls

Then become ragged when unfurled

And the love we expressed well in a pledge

Unveils itself ... showing its double edge
