Younger Body, Older Mind

It's one of those things you learn
As you go through life's daily turns
For those who wish to be part of your lifestyle
Soon turn out to be well beyond the miles ...

Even though distance is only a bridge
Other things turn out to be unpledged
For even though the promise was there
They left you standing with only a stare

Proving the body weary, and the mind
For they stopped coming, thus being blind
Not only to your needs, but theirs as well
Leaving you alone, and just an empty shell

And clearer in your choice in time to be
For your needs are formed more sensibly
And these include a younger body to stoke
Fired by a more mature mind with much hope

- Tristram
