The Fischer King



On this day back in nineteen and fifty-eight

A fourteen-year-old became quite first-rate

When he won his first chess championship

And from then on, no longer took any lip ...



Robert James Fischer is the kid's name 

But no longer is that his major claim ...

For he held the title of world champ ...

Before the personal computer took ramp



Now he plays against these machines

But doesn't always win over the fiends

For computers tend to just follow all the moves

And it sure is tough to get them out of the groove!!!
