David Jones' Locker



Another really does celebrate a birthday

And one who was not ashamed to be gay

Or, at least - of shared sexual proclivities

Who, even, on film, shared these activities



A man who could be seen as the ultimate rocker

Especially, once he'd chosen to open his locker

For this brilliant fellow could really be seen to be 

A true original ... for his alter-ego - David Bowie



I saw him live back in the really early days ...

Playing in a small house along Strand way

Doing that very first space number all alone

Back in the days when he was still David Jones
