If I am Who You Say

If I am who you say ...
No soul on earth will pay
For the work I have done
For they see ... not - the sun

I do ... see the sun daily
And rejoice in it ... gaily
For the sun lifts my spirit
Doing so without limit ...

Which does stunt some
For they fire their guns
Trapping themselves
Further back on shelves

Merging into wallpaper
Losing a chance at greater
For they feel they've won
By becoming more numb

- Tristram
