When the dust settles ...

Only those with mettle

Will now make the very best

Of the one week we have left



In this end-of-the-week closing year

Which some'll look back on with tears

At the events which gave us a little fear

At the folks we lost both far and so near



But others will look ahead to the future

To the year coming, and feeling secure

And forging ahead with their new plans

To adapt to all things that come to hand
