Just got through doing a complete revamp of a page

It was pretty tricky, as it needed be done stage by stage
Linking one forward for each of more than one hundred
Was not at all awkward (for mind tracks by the numbers)

But the tricky part was all the links for the ones before
Which needed to be two back ... to link to the right floor
Or else the screens would've stayed right where they were
Or worse yet ... they might well have jumped elsewhere ...

Then the reader would have been completely lost ...
And probably lost interest in all my work, and tossed
Away - all of the intricate designs so carefully planned
And that wouldn't do ... for so much of it's quite grand ...

It may not have a lot of sound and splash and pizzaz
But then ... it's only poetry ... not games or other jazz
And the words really need to speak for themselves ...
Which, I suspect ... is a little overdone ... (for the elves!)

Anyway ... the upload had one link to my working page
It was the first button ... which had started the new stage
Which could not be detected at all in preview mode ...
It was only after the upload and post ... it really showed

How embarrassing to find the very first one dead-ended!!!
My heart went into another gear ... I felt so totally offended!
But it was all my fault ... there is nobody else at all to blame
How could I know from the preview it wouldn't be the same?
