Makes us all actors

Pretending we don't feel

The cold ... from head to heels



As the thin socks, shirts and pants

We donned for yesterday's warmth

Protects us not from the dance ...

We do in our heads, legs and arms



And the briskness whips right thru our skin

As the cold chills so, we can't begin ...

To see our visions for the day ahead

For the biting at our bones stops us dead
