Time tells ... some things never change

For certain attitudes are carved in stone
And as time unfurls ... that limited range
Becomes even more entrenched in bone

So many minds caught in acute dilemmas
Of their own making ... and out on a ledge
Set in ways which have no apt promise ...
For they've taken stands and will not budge

And up against this absolute, solid rock wall
With no cracks, no fissures ... no easements
Comes an astute man who totally gives his all
But then finds there is just no appeasements

In a secure world which turns and evolves
Changes are welcomed, one after the other
But in the opposite sphere ... there's a toll
For insecurity is camouflaged under a cover

And this makes folks act without consideration
As they use their crude tools to try and usurp ...
Attempting to change the course with impatience
But all they wind up doing is inflicting self-hurt
