Tonight, many folks will be enthralled, no doubt ...

For a beautiful lady will be entertaining amidst shouts
As Bobby Caldwell and his band play some tunes ...
Vanessa Williams will be up front singing so true ...

An event I shall have to miss even though I won
For at least twice I got thru to the station at once
When they played the Secret Song and I dialed
But, unfortunately, missed being 19 by many miles

For when I got thru - both times I was number five
And all the rest of the times, I wasn't even live ...
But that's okay ... I got to see her the other night
Singing with Pavarotti ... she was so very bright

A gorgeous lady who well-deserved the crown
And title of Miss America ... in a beautiful gown
But that was a few years ago ... she's now even more
Luscious than she was then ... and settling the score
