Something new came my way today

It's a somewhat genuine pearl ...
A gift of a guestbook - nothing to pay!
So I thought I would give it a whirl ...

Before now, it seemed criminal to me
To be insulted, when you pay a fee!!!
Or to have to put up with banners ...
Promoting other folks' planners ...

So I held off doing anything till now
(Didn't want to have a furrowed brow)
All because folks can say mean things
Then it reflects on later Thoughts' ring

And the work then takes on a heaviness
Which tends to reflect back uneasiness
Instead of being open and uplifting ...
A natural bent of the work drifting ...

Between Thoughts' pages and Park
(Although a few there are a little dark)
But the bulk of it really is rather sweet
When mind wanders on its own beat ...

- Tristram
