Sometimes we run underground and hide
Because of things we don't understand or like
And then we fret about them instead of clearing
The air - which will have a way of allaying fearing
Get to the bottom of things you don't understand
Don't fret about them and then stolidly take a stand
Based on conclusions you've jumped to without cause
Because you've not taken the time to look into sores
And analyze for yourself why you feel the way you do
Consider the possibility there are stresses applied to you
Which have nothing to do with who you're directing it to
But have in fact, found yourself an escape for your blues
Which may not be where you really want to be deep down
But is just a place you went to in order to avoid frowns
To use the pain you feel inside - against others to hurt
Which makes you feel better as you push them into dirt
If that makes you feel better - it is really only temporary
For when you look at yourself clearly, you'll see it's petty
As it proves nothing at all and only winds up hurting those
Who have no ill-will towards you - and which really shows
In the things they say and do and even in the way they act
Since love is in their hearts and this they show in stacks
Of words uttered and motions made and other good things
All of which are readily calculated to make your heart sing
So get away from that fear in your mind which causes all this
As the people you meet daily are not out to cause you distress
So turn around that feeling deep down within and let fear out
Doing so will relieve you of your burden, and then you can shout
For joy - which is the very best stuff of life, something we all have
Tap it within you and then you will find goodness which will salve
And promote healing of all those tight spots which tie you in knots
As freedom which is ours to have - can come only when we've got
Tight hold of every bit of malice which runs through our veins
Losing it is very easy to do - we just shrug off any and all stains
And go on by dealing only with positivity in everything we do
Something which is quite natural, and will keep us from the blues
