Do we need to atone ...

For the comforts of home?

So many worldly stresses
Involve us and then test us
We must take the time for self
Find it ... lift it off the shelf ...

It's there ... hiding under a book
Perhaps, the one we use to cook
All we need do is grab it quick ...
Then heal our wounds with a lick

As we read the book and enjoy ...
Or make the food ... it's our choice
Whatever we decide ... it's our time
To relax, and to ourselves - be kind

For when we make it a daily habit
The things we feel won't snag a bit
Or hang up our bodies quite so tight
Or make our heads feel so light ...

So take whatever time it is you need
To calm those tensions, and breathe
Easier than you did so often before
When daily routine became a chore
